Domain Name Transfer

If you have your domain registered with one company and the hosting is provided by another you might consider putting them both in one place. This would make the management of the site quite easier.
Usually transferring the domain requires lesser effort than transferring the web-site. The steps are quite simple and take very little participation on your end. They are as follows:
1. You need to get in touch with the company that you have registered the domain name with and ask them to give you the so-called Authorization Code. Beware! It is case-sensitive so it is best to ask them to e-mail it to you to avoid any mistyped characters.
2. Then you have to unlock the domain – most of the registrars have this option in the control panels they provide their customers but their technical support should be able to take care of it upon request.
3. Then you need to get in touch with the hosting company you want to move the domain name to and ask them to initiate the transfer.
4. Once they have done so you will receive an e-mail from them on the Administrative e-mail address of the domain name. It is sent for confirmation – if you do not reply to it the transfer will cease. Make sure the Admin e-mail is valid and you have access to it.
These are the steps you need to take in order to move your domain from one registrar to another. Once the transfer is initiated it takes about 7 days to completion.
